Bon Appetit names Jon & Vinny's one of America's top 50 Restaurants

The LA Times food blog today announced that Jon & Vinny's has landed one of the 50 spots in Bon Appétit's newest list of top restaurants in the US. It's not surprising to find out that another of the four LA nominees is Petit Trois, which is another Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo restaurant along with Ludo Lefebvre. (While SRC didn't work on the Petit Trois project, we did however provide design and equipment services to its big sister, Trois Mec, just next door.)

Red O in Santa Monica opens this Saturday August 1

The third Red O restaurant, with kitchens designed by Shambra Restaurant Consulting, opens this weekend, right on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica.

SRC reconfigured the existing bar, updated the kitchen layout, and provide new equipment and installation to update the former 41 Ocean restaurant space. Completely reinvented, this Red O location brings Rick Bayless' newest iteration right where it always belonged--oceanside with a perfect view.

Eater LA is running a set of interior pictures to start your mouth watering for the opening event this weekend.

Our fantastic bookkeeper alerted us to this Huffington Post article posted yesterday. While we're known to spoil a friend's two pooches on occasional dog-sitting weekends, we're not quite up to actually tasting the dog's treats for them. Luckily, you don't have to either, as some (un-?) willing writer has done all the taste-testing for you. Whew.
