The oldest restaurants in LA: Longtime SRC customer El Cholo is #13

LA Beat blog recently compiled a list of the city's oldest and most historic surviving restaurants, and longtime SRC customer El Cholo makes the list at number 13 (lucky 13, to us!).

Shambra Restaurant Consulting has provided design, purchasing and installation services to all of El Cholo's current locations including their newest spot in Corona del Mar. Originally starting with Sonora Cafe in 1923, Sonora was renamed "El Cholo" in 1925 and the downtown Western location soon followed in 1927. The El Cholo family of restaurants now comprises six namesake restaurants across Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as The Cannery Newport Beach and The Cat and the Custard Cup in La Habra.

Congrats to El Cholo and their longstanding history of authentic Mexican fare in Los Angeles! Salud!
